David Lowe with Logic

David Lowe, composer and producer of TV music and creator of the unique BBC news sound, has no easy job; he has only seconds in which to convey an idea, while also catching the attention of millions of viewer around the world - without resorting to sonic clichés. He recently discussed his working methods and his success with us:

"I record and mix everything in Logic. I keep all my sounds stored on the EXS24, which makes trying ideas out much more instant and creative. I have a studio in London, so I can work on ideas in Malvern, and take them down to complete with clients in London, with the ultimate luxury of working on my laptop on the train in between. Writing to picture is also excellently simple with the visuals imported as Quick Time movies in Logic. It's inspirational!"
